COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus)
The NZ government ordered the closure of all non-essential businesses by 11:59pm on Wednesday the 25th of March in order to minimise the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. This closure is for a period of at least 4 weeks. At 12:21pm on that day a state of emergency was declared for the country, opening up wider powers to the government in order to better control this pandemic.
We are not an essential business and are currently closed. No repairs or other work will be accepted during this closure. No completed repairs or other work can be collected during this closure. We are in full compliance and agreement with the requirements to close most businesses at this time.
Unless you need to travel for essential purposes, stay home. If you need to leave your home for food, health care, or other essential purpose, stay at least 2 metres from all other people at all times. Help stop the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus by isolating yourself and engaging in good hygiene practices such as frequent washing of your hands and covering any coughs or sneezes.

GNUcomp has ceased business.
It has been an interesting few years repairing various pieces of equipment with many happy customers managing to get their various pieces of electronics back up and working again.
Society today operates as a throwaway society and this is reflected not only in cheap pricing for goods but also in a general unwillingness to pay for repairs. I could continue trying to get people to repair their faulty items instead of buying a new one and throwing out the old but this is largely a fruitless exercise. As a result I have made the decision to close the business.
Thank you for your support over the past few years. If you have equipment which is in need of repair, please contact either Frontline Otago (televisions and similar small electronic items) or Sonntag Fox Electric (any other items) who may be able to offer a repair service.
